The New Castle Community YMCA is looking for friendly, dedicated, compassionate and organized individuals to fill the following position(s):

We are currently looking for a Youth Wellness and Sports Director who will be responsible for the operation and programs of the Youth Wellness and Sports Department at the Y-Zone. He or she will also be responsible for general Y-Zone operations on evenings and weekends.


  • College Degree in related field. Maintain required certifications as required for the position
  • Ability to interact with children and public
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Previous experience working with children and teens
  • Child abuse and Criminal background clearance
  • Current First Aid & CPR certifications
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience and knowledge of various sports and wellness concepts
  • Computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Creativity

We are currently looking for lifeguards and swim instructors to join our team. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and have their lifeguard and first aid certification. For those interested in becoming certified, we do have Lifeguarding Course scheduled for Dec. 28-30. Must be available to work evenings and weekends, including Sunday mornings. Lifeguards will have an opportunity to be trained as a YMCA swim instructor.

We are currently looking for an outgoing and motivating individual to work in the Wellness Center at the Downtown branch. Responsibilities include membership engagement as well as light cleaning and organizing. We are currently looking for warm and nurturing Preschool teachers who have the creativity and desire to engage children positively and effectively, through unique activities, while also providing children with a fun, hands on learning experience. Candidate needs to have at least 2 years experience with children and/or BA/BS/AAS degree in Early Childhood Education or RELATED field experience. Our classrooms are focused on learning, fun, and organization. Please be prepared to have fun and to run the classroom. A YMCA membership is included with your employment in childcare. Other requirements:

  • FBI fingerprint, PA State Criminal & PA Child Abuse background checks (Clearances must be within the past 5 years of start date)
  • Must have physical/TB test completed (within 1 year of start date) before you can start

Currently seeking  a friendly and caring assistant teacher/aide to work part-time with children in our 4 Star Child Development Center. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, ages 12 months through 5 years of age. Morning or afternoon shifts are available.
