About the New Castle Community YMCA
Our Vision, Goals, and Membership
The Organization
Welcome to the New Castle Community YMCA, an organization which has been serving the needs of this community for 120 years. The New Castle Community YMCA founded many years ago by men and women of vision has grown and changed just as our community has grown and changed; but the mission has remained the same:
Our Mission: To promote Christian values through programs that build healthy body, mind and spirit for all.
The New Castle Community YMCA provides our community with a vast network of programs, facilities and opportunities. A membership to the YMCA provides you with access to three YMCA facilities -
–The Downtown YMCA
on West Washington Street, New Castle
–The Y-Zone
on Mitchell Road in Neshannock Township and
–The Y Dek Hockey Rink
on Phelps Way near Vo-Tech
As well as numerous programs and services to enhance your quality of life. We also have a fine staff of professionals who are willing to encourage and support you in your efforts.
Our programs are the tools we use to improve people's lives. Through programs, the YMCA creates experiences that nurture the healthy development of children, encourage positive behavior in teens and strengthen families. As this takes place, young people develop character and values; adults become better role models and leaders; families are strengthened; and the entire community reaps the benefit - demonstrating time and time again, that together, we can make a difference.
The package of programs, services and facilities we offer is unmatched, and perhaps unmatchable in either the public or private sector. The YMCA's doors are open to anyone in the community - regardless of race, religion or economic background, from the very young to the very old. The YMCA is available to everyone! The New Castle Community YMCA has a commitment to serving the community by identifying the needs of this community and then positioning our programs to help make a positive difference in the lives of people.
