NEW CASTLE, Pa., Aug. 4, 2011 – An orientation will be held on Aug. 15 for new enrollees of the New Castle Community YMCA preschool and pre-K programs. Come meet our certified and nurturing staff and learn more about our creative curriculum for children, age 2-5. The meeting begins at 6 p.m.; the first day of school is Aug. 22.

Child Development Center Director, Dale Squicquero, said, “Research shows children learn through play and they construct their knowledge by touching, tasting, smelling, watching, listening, thinking and doing. Our child-centered curriculum encourages kids to explore music and movement, science and nature, families and culture, art and drama, and language arts and mathematics. Physical education and learn to swim classes are also included in the curriculum.”
