Many services, classes and amenities are free with a membership

NEW CASTLE, Pa., October 9, 2013 – The New Castle Community YMCA is in the midst of its annual Membership Campaign. Through Nov 15, the Y is offering one-week guest passes and an opportunity to save big with a “Pay the Date” incentive.

During this year’s campaign, the Y is focusing on communicating its seemingly-endless list of membership benefits to community members. With benefits such as free fitness classes and swim lessons, access to two facilities (Downtown Y & the Y-Zone) and on-site child care, the value of a Y membership is unparalleled.

Membership and Wellness Director Erik Raney said, “We firmly believe that a Y membership is one of the great values in our community. The Y provides countless opportunities that are sure to strengthen your body, mind and spirit.”

With over 6,000 members, much of the New Castle community already benefits from the Y.

Jennifer Anderson, a proud mother of four children says that “progressive swim lessons changed my family’s life.” The Anderson’s frequently visit the Y and not just for swimming. “My kids swim four days a week and while they swim, I go to spin class and my youngest, Collin, enjoys his visits to drop-in daycare,” Anderson said.

Many adult members take advantage of the Y’s free fitness classes, while also utilizing the recently-renovated, drop-in child watch center. Erika Grove, mother of three and member since 2006, turned to the Y when her husband was deployed to Iraq.

“Taking fitness classes at the Y has made me a healthier and happier person. The instructors are wonderful and the Y is constantly offering newer and better classes.” In addition to improving her personal health, Grove is grateful for the example the Y sets for her daughters.

“Not only do my girls enjoy swimming and the drop-in center, they see others living a healthy lifestyle and it sets a positive example for them.”

The Y’s “Did You Know…” Membership Campaign runs now through Nov 15. Guest passes are available at the YMCA Downtown, the Y-Zone and online at ncymca.org and facebook.com/NewCastleYMCA. To learn more about the benefits of a Y membership, like us on Facebook.
