Thanksgiving 5K Run And Walk is Huge Success, Raises $2,600 for YMCA's Youth Scholarship Fund

New Castle, Pa., Dec. 3, 2009 — New Castle Community YMCA's inaugural Thanksgiving 5K Run & Walk raised $2,600 for the YMCA's Youth Scholarship Fund. This will provide 17 youth with a membership to the YMCA in 2010.

Over 250 runners/walkers participated in the Thanksgiving event. Philip Thompson, 24, of Greensburg, Pa., won the race with a time of 15:09. Alyssa Boucher,18, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va. was the top female finisher and recorded a time of 19:11. Here are the top three finishers in each of the age/gender categories:
