    Drop the kids off for a fun night of activities, games and snacks at the Y-Zone while you enjoy a night out! We have an evening of basketball, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, soccer and dodgeball planned. We'll also provide snacks and refreshments.

    Ages: 8 - 15
    Cost: $15 per person, payable at the door. 

    Please note, there is no pre-registration for this event, parents will just need to sign a waiver and pay during drop-off. We'll have waiver forms available at the door, however if you'd like to complete one in advance, you can download and print a form.

  • T-Day 5K Run & Walk

    November 23, 2017 - 9:00am

    Join us Thanksgiving morning for our annual 5K Run & Walk. This family-friendly event is for people of all ages. Wheelchairs, strollers and pets on leashes are welcome! Event proceeds benefit the Y’s Annual Youth Campaign. Register by November 6 and receive a FREE commemorative t-shirt!

    $20 per participant over the age of 6. Children 6 & under free. Register by November 6 and receive a FREE commemorative t-shirt. Register online or download a paper registration form and submit it with payment to the YMCA. PLEASE NOTE: Online registration ends Wednesday, Nov. 22 at noon. Same day registration will open at 7:30 a.m. at the downtown Y.

    The race starts at 9 a.m. in front of the YMCA Downtown. Race packets and t-shirts may be picked up at the downtown Y from 7:30-8:40 a.m. Complimentary refreshments are provided at the finish line. Awards will be given to top male and female overall finishers and top three finishers in each age group. (Age Groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+)

    Parking is available in the YMCA lot located at the corner of West Washington Street & the Columbus Innerbelt, next to Burger King.

    Restrooms are available inside the YMCA before and during the race.

    The New Castle Community YMCA will host its annual community Thanksgiving Praise breakfast at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21. The event, which is open to the public, includes a full complimentary breakfast provided by Medure’s Catering, as well as an inspirational message and special music.

    Saluting 150 Years of Service & Volunteer Leadership
    This year's Salute to Courage event is being transformed into the YMCA Celebration Gala to commemorate the New Castle Community YMCA's 150th Anniversary. Over the past 150 years the Y has impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands of local families thanks to the efforts of volunteer leadership. Join us as we salute their commitment to the Y’s core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility, and celebrate 150 years of service to the community. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. Guests will also enjoy live music by Pittsburgh party/brass band, Beauty Slap, an exhibit featuring photographs and memorabilia from the New Castle YMCA’s 150 year history, and silent and live auctions.

    All proceeds from the event will benefit the Y’s Annual Campaign, which provides life-changing programs and memberships to more than 1,000 youth, adults, older adults and families every year. The Y counts on the generosity of our members and partners to keep our doors open to anyone who needs a place to go to help them be more healthy, confident, connected and secure. No one is ever turned away from the Y because of inability to pay for a membership or program.

  • 2017 Spin-a-thon

    September 9, 2017 - 11:00am to 4:00pm

    #spinforkidz at the New Castle Community YMCA's 2nd Annual Spin-a-thon. We'll be spinning around the fountain outside the downtown New Castle YMCA from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. With celebrity participants, prizes, enthusiastic instructors, live DJs, and local radio stations on site, it’s the Downtown party you won’t want to miss!

    Participate as an individual or as a team and help raise money for local children!  Individuals and teams will compete to raise money for the Y. Prizes will be awarded to the top individual and team fundraisers. 100% of the money raised goes directly to the New Castle Community YMCA's Annual Youth Campaign, which serves thousands of local kids every year through mentoring, education, athletic programs and more. Because of you, the Y can invest more than $200,000 into local children every year.

    Riders are asked to raise a minimum of $50 each to participate. Register as an individual or team of up to 6 riders. Registration includes free event shirt (must preregister by August 25 for shirt). All participants must be 16 years of age or older and medically cleared to exercise.

  • 2017 County Cup

    August 5, 2017 - 10:00am to 2:00pm

    The Pens took the Stanley Cup... now who's going to win the County Cup? It could be you!

    Teams will face off against each other in a fun, friendly competition at the Y-Zone. Game events will include frisbee golf, cornhole, bocce, pickleball and an adventure race. The winning team will receive a commemorative plaque and earn the honor of displaying the "Y Cup" at their business or the Y-Zone for the following year. 

    Public admission is free; concession stands will be available. 

    Gather your friends, family, colleagues - even your boss - and get ready to challenge other local teams. The cost per team of 6 is $300. All proceeds benefit the YMCA Annual Youth Campaign. Included in the fee is a commemorative t-shirt for every team member, as well as ON-SITE CHILD WATCH the day of the tournament. Team refreshments will be provided. 

    All registrations must be received by by July 29, 2017. Download and complete the registration form, or stop by the Y-Zone to register in person.

    Join the Y in making downtown New Castle beautiful! We are once again planting flowers at the Diamond, Kennedy Square, and along Washington Street. We need volunteers for the following:

    Prep Day

    (bring gloves, shovels, and any other tools that may help prep soil)

    Join us for the Tom Robinson Memorial Day of Prayer Breakfast, which will be held in the gymnasium of the downtown branch of the New Castle Community YMCA. The event is open to the public and all are welcome to enjoy breakfast, fellowship, and prayer at this FREE community breakfast. 

    Join us and people across the country in a day of prayer for each other, our communities and our nation. This year's speaker will be Josh Watts, Student Pastor from First Baptist on Maitland. Music will be provided by Michael Daugherty.

    This event is held in memory of Tom Robinson, YMCA Board Member, who lived the YMCA’s mission of “putting Christian principles into practice.”
